Professional Experience

Musawenkosi completed intensive dog handler courses with MECHEM and MineTech International where he trained in basic dog care, basic obedience and training, imprinting on explosives, baggage vehicle and building searches and finally stringent examinations certifying him as a fully trained and qualified handler. During these projects he proved to be a confident handler.

Once Musawenkosi was fully trained and certified as an EDD Handler he went on to pursue a his canine career and was employed as an EDD Handler manning entry check points to the Al Masour USAID Compound. He worked with two dogs clearing vehicles, baggage and buildings for explosive vapour in the capacity of Force Protection for the USAID clients.

Musawenkosi was tasked to the whole compound responding to emergencies related to explosives i.e. unattended packages, buildings and vehicles. He was on 24 hour call for clearance of any suspicious vehicle on the premises or entering the premises as well as baggage and electronic gadgets.

Musawenkosi is familiar and extremely confident within his work, he understands operational tasks and is capable within his work. He thoroughly enjoys his work and supports the client to his full ability meeting company requirements and achieving client expectations with ease. He is a skilled and professional individual that sets high standards and takes pride in his work.

Canine Experience

JULY 2017 – PRESENT TDI SOUTH SUDAN
EDD Handler working in support of UNOPs in South Sudan providing security to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in UNMISS camps. Involved in searching at the airport ( Juba International Airport ) , personnel, vehicle and baggage at restricted entry points as well as areas designated by UNMISS. Searching for contraband , weapons and explosives to ensure safety within UN sites.

September 2016 MTI – South Sudan
